The heroine Lin Wan (a newbie in the workplace, outspoken and stubborn) reunites with Gu Chengze, her school-time rival and now parachuted executive of the company, in a dating bureau. In order to cope with the family's pressure to get married, Gu Chengze proposed a "love internship contract" and asked Lin Wan to pretend to be his girlfriend on the condition of high remuneration and promotion opportunities.
The past grudges (memory of the opposition between top student/scumbag) and the current power relationship (supervisor/subordinate) are superimposed to form a double confrontation.
