In a post-catastrophic world called "The New Age," aura ("psionic radiation") and technology (highly developed but controlled) merge in a monstrous way. The world is divided into several giant "psionic special zones" by huge energy barriers. Outside the special zone is a "desperate wasteland" full of violent beasts, deadly radiation and out-of-control AI. Within the special zone, there is a "cyberpunk-style fairy society" that is jointly ruled by the "Skynet" super AI and human dignitaries, and integrates fairy sects, technology companies, and bureaucracies. The protagonist Lin Mo, as a "psychic picket" (commonly known as "the watchman") under the "Public Security Department" of the Special Administrative Region, detects strange cases, mediates forces, and fights injustice on the edge of the bizarre urban jungle and dangerous wasteland, and gradually uncovers the dark truth of the "Catastrophe" and the rule of "Skynet".
