The apocalypse arrived, and I became the king of the zombies.
The fog was crimson, and hordes of zombies roamed everywhere. Zhou Heng woke up in a hospital bed to find that the world had changed.
But what terrified him even more was that the zombies all dropped to their knees when they saw him!
Their rotting bodies crouched low, their mangled hands offering up zombie cores, their murky eyes filled with submission.

Zhou Heng was stunned. Everyone else was struggling to survive the apocalypse, chased and bitten by zombies. The zombies treated him like royalty: he had “bodyguards” whenever he went out, “tributes” whenever he wanted to level up, and zombies sneaking in to bring him gifts while he slept.
But this power was a curse. If it was ever exposed, humans would see him as a monster, a traitor, a threat that had to be eliminated.
“I’m just an ordinary psychic with a mild mental deterrence ability,” Zhou Heng told the camp leader, even as he clutched a high-level zombie core the zombies had just offered him.
By day, he played the weakling at the human stronghold, getting by with his “feeble” psychic powers. By night, the zombie army scavenged supplies for him, while high-level zombies lined up for their turn to “serve” him.
Then one day, a zombie horde surrounded the city, and humanity fell into despair. The leader shoved Zhou Heng to the front lines. “Use your psychic powers! Even if you can only hold them off for a few seconds!”
Zhou Heng sighed and gently raised a hand toward the million-strong horde.
The next second, the zombies all dropped to their knees in unison, a vast, dark mass bowing their rotting heads to him.
The entire camp fell deathly silent.
Zhou Heng turned around and gave an innocent smile. “Um… if I say this is just a slightly stronger mental deterrence ability, will you believe me?”
