Reborn in the 1980S: Heavy Industry and a Doting, Stoic Officer

Modern engineer Lin Shu opens her eyes in the 1980s, having become the family leech everyone loves to hate, the kind of sister who sacrifices everything to support her younger brother. To raise money for her brother's bride price, her family forces her to marry a cripple in exchange for cash and steals her job placement. Her family is cold-hearted and utterly hopeless. Lin Shu kicks the toxic relatives to the curb and cuts ties with her family. Everyone waits to laugh as she starves to death on the streets. Not long afterward, the engine project that has troubled China for years makes a breakthrough. Lu Zheng, the famously cold, steel-hearted man who supposedly has no interest in women, holds an umbrella over her in the rain. Late one night, he corners her against a wall and asks in a husky voice, “You solved the technical challenge. When are you going to solve the challenge that is me?”
