Order to Kill the Hu: The Hegemon of Chu’s Campaign Against the Hu

When the Hegemon of Western Chu transmigrates into the cataclysmic era of the Five Barbarians, hell on earth begins.

In 202 BC, at the banks of the Wu River, just before Xiang Yu takes his own life, a bolt of lightning hurls him into a temporal vortex. When he opens his eyes, he finds himself four centuries in the future, in the era of the Five Barbarians: Han Chinese are treated like livestock and called “two-legged sheep” by the barbarians. The old are called “kindling,” the young “tender meat,” and people are skinned alive, dismembered, boiled, and eaten raw.

Babies wail in pots, young women moan over fires, corpses litter the ground, and the whole city reeks of blood.

Xiang Yu laughs.

In his double pupils, flames blaze bright enough to consume the eight directions.

“Eat people?” he says. “Good. Very good. The thing I hate most in this life is people who eat other people.”

One man, one spear, charging alone into battle.

The Hegemon’s spear sweeps through the air, and the Jie cavalry shatters like paper. Limbs fly in every direction. Arrows rain down, only to be squeezed out of his flesh inch by inch, thudding to the ground. Three thousand Jie warriors lie dead in an instant. Standing atop a mountain of corpses, drenched in blood, he throws back his head and roars, his voice carrying for a hundred miles.

At last, those man-eating beasts have met the ancestor who eats beasts.

He turns three hundred cavalrymen into three thousand, three thousand into thirty thousand, and thirty thousand into a million iron riders.

Heavy cavalry charges, making the earth tremble as enemy ranks are trampled into pulp. The firearm battalion fires in unison, filling the air with smoke as the enemy are blasted full of holes amid their screams. Battering rams smash into the gates, shattering them, and the enemy is slaughtered to the last in despair.
