After being fired as a quack, Lin Xiao awakens his family's ancestral medical art in the depths of despair. A single silver needle can decide life or death, while his spirit eyes can see the cause of any illness. He practices medicine in poor alleyways, treating terminal diseases that the experts have already declared incurable, only to stumble upon the tip of the iceberg of the medical world's dark secrets: illegal trials behind exorbitantly priced drugs, dirty deals hidden beneath prestigious expert titles, and a strange “sickness demon” lurking inside patients. When he resolves to cleanse the industry with a healer's compassion, the entire cartel of vested interests strikes back. This is a battle over human lives. He must save people from the brink of death while also fighting to the death against the players pulling the strings in the shadows.
