Love in the Army, 1980s: The Tough Battalion Commander’s Beloved Miracle Doctor

Su Wanqing, a botanist with a PhD, heads straight into the Miao borderlands in the 1980s to fulfill her grandmother's dying wish and study a mysterious companion herb.

But as soon as she arrives, she accidentally trespasses in a restricted area and is caught by Lu Yanxing, the garrison's youngest and most heartless “Living Yama,” who mistakes her for a suspicious outsider.

He is a walking embodiment of raw masculinity and discipline, a border defense battalion commander everyone fears. Wherever his gaze falls, everything falls silent.

She is a beautiful, brilliant doctoral researcher. Her silver needles can save lives, and her sharp tongue can put people in their place. Prickly yet captivating, she is fragrant as a flower.

Everyone in the compound says Battalion Commander Lu can't stand “city girls” like Su Wanqing, all delicate and pampered.

But no one knows that on countless sleepless nights, Lu Yanxing has tossed and turned over her, rubbing the armband she once bandaged until it grew hot.

During one mission, he holds her tightly in his arms to shield her. His low, ragged breath brushes her ear as he says, “Su Wanqing, you're not just good at medicine. You're good at taking a man's life... mine.”

She looks up in his arms and lightly touches his Adam's apple, her eyes alluring. “Then, Battalion Commander Lu, will you give me your life?”
