In the 1960s, Su Jianshe disappeared. His wife Li Guiyun had just given birth to a young son. Mrs. Su used the excuse of "losing her family star" and drove her children Su Jin and Su Xiaoxiao to a leaky thatched house without food and clothing. One day, the brother and sister accidentally triggered a time and space passage connecting the modern world in the woodshed. From then on, they traveled back and forth between the two places, improving their lives by picking up vegetables, selling scraps, and making deals. During this period, they outsmarted Mrs. Su's family who came to seize the property, and learned from the team leader that their father might be trapped in the black coal mine. The brother and sister found clues that their father was still alive in modern times, and planned to lure the police to rescue his father. In the end, the four members of the Su family reunited and lived a stable life in difficult times with their access and savings.
