When Gu Jiangye set out for the ice-free harbor once more, he had two rings in his pocket: one was his, and the other was the one Fu Xilai had given him. If a certain someone didn’t show up as promised, he would throw both rings into the sea, then go home and post online to debunk that stupid legend. It was all a bunch of lies.
Gu Jiangye waited at the harbor for a long time, until the stars came out, but Fu Xilai never appeared. He rolled the two rings over and over in his palm, then finally put them away. When he turned around, he fell into familiar, warm arms.
