Scholar, Stop Writing

[Dual Male Leads + Historical Intrigue + Mystery and Investigation + Brain-Burning Puzzles + A Powerful Pair]

[Cool Imperial City Bureau Investigator x Failed Examination Candidate]

Du Wenyan has spent his whole life doing only two things: studying and writing poetry.

Until he failed the provincial examinations in Jiangzuo, was ambushed at a ruined temple, and a bloodstained riverworks token landed at his feet.

An accountant was found dead, a scholar was poisoned, and corrupt officials were silencing witnesses one after another. Even writing a doggerel poem could bring assassins after him.

Zhao Wufeng gripped his saber, his brow furrowed. "Du Wenyan, investigate the case!"

Du Wenyan's legs trembled as he immediately began to recite: "In the dead of night, cold blades gleam. Sir, save me from this deadly scene..."

Zhao Wufeng: "Shut up! Write another poem and I'll throw you in the river to feed the fish!"

Little Shitou, cheering wildly: "What a wonderful poem, Young Master!"

Then a flood swallowed his hometown, and pages upon pages of poetry were soaked with blood and tears...

Zhao Wufeng pressed down on his trembling hand. "This time, what we have to write may cost us our lives."

This is the story of an unlucky scholar who cannot stop writing poetry even at death's door, abducted by a hard-as-steel secret police officer. Together, they investigate leaked examination questions and corruption in the riverworks, and ultimately turn the imperial court upside down.
