The Post-80s Generation: Our Story

Born in the early 1980s, Lin Li grows up under his parents' expectations, finishes high school, and gets into university. After graduating, he finds a job and gets married. Then he takes on a mortgage, and in middle age, he faces one layoff after another, joins the ranks of food-delivery workers, and falls into depression. His son fails the high school entrance exam, and he can do nothing but accept the falling housing prices. Each time, he has no choice but to keep going. This is the story of someone born in the 1980s, caught on the front lines of a changing era. If you were born in the 1980s, I hope you'll see a reflection of yourself here.
