In 1927 in Shanghai, two major business families were forced to marry to resist the invasion of foreign capital. Lin Shuyue, the daughter of the Lin family, appears to be a fair-skinned and beautiful "overlord flower" who only knows how to design cheongsams, but is actually an underground intelligence agent of the Chinese Communist Party with a photographic memory; Lu Jinshen, the prince of the Lu family, appears to be a cynical banker living in Japan, secretly using shipping lines to transport supplies to the anti-Japanese forces. A contract marriage, two pretenders, from testing each other to picking off each other's waistcoats, and finally became revolutionary lovers fighting side by side in the war-torn times.
