Escaping the Backrooms? No, I'll Hand It Over to the State for Demolition

Chronicles of the Back Room 2019~2026 2019: The embryonic stage Back Room originated from a 2019 picture on the foreign "4chan Internet Forum", which showed the inside of a maze with yellow carpet and wallpaper. A user on the forum added complete settings to this picture, making this picture full of weirdness and liminal style, becoming the original work of Back Room. Subsequently, many people who were interested in strange stories such as dream cores, pool cores, strange cores, and liminal spaces began to create. 2020~2021: Getting better 2020 to 2021 is a boom in backroom creation. Many classic levels have sprung up. At the same time, the two major foreign wikis, wikidot and fandom, also have backroom sites, and have established the background framework and creation regulations of the backroom. Many organizations, entities and other basic settings are widely accepted. 2022: The golden age 2022 is the golden age of the back room. Foreign tycoon Kane Pixel has released a number of back room short films, officially kicking off the global visual diversification of the back room. Before that, backrooms were just articles and pictures on wikis; after that, various "backroom videos, short films and animations" sprung up like mushrooms after rain. The strong liminal style and dreamcore and poolcore feelings attracted a large number of active users into the circle. Backrooms exploded on the global Internet and officially entered its heyday. 2023: From prosperity to decline In 2023, the popularity of the back room circle on the Chinese Internet reached its peak. In early 2023, three back room games appeared on Steam and still dominate the list today: Escape from the Back Room, Into the Back Room, and Back Room: Escape Together. The back room begins its march towards the play area. These three games quickly became a huge hit on the Chinese Internet, so much so that a large number of Internet celebrities followed suit and started playing backroom games online. But 2023 is also the worst year for the back room circle. After the back room game was played by many Internet celebrities, it only took a while for the popularity to decrease rapidly, leaving the back room game with nothing but chicken feathers. At the same time, the huge traffic of the back room circle attracts a bunch of elementary school students or immature minors. Many of them cosplay the entities in the back room online like crazy people. They frantically swipe the screen in the comment area of the back room. They also write "back room" under the comment area of various videos or music that have nothing to do with the back room. This makes the back room circle notorious and the environment is getting worse and worse. The popularity of the back room has been decreasing since then. At the beginning of 2023, a major purge broke out in fandom, one of the two major wikis in the backroom. In the early days of the Fandom backroom wiki, creativity was too free and there were many, many high-level articles. But no one writes about the low floors, and the various articles are uneven, not like a formal database at all. So at the beginning of 2023, the Shiying website carried out a major cleaning, and all bad articles from 2019 to 2022 were deleted. After this incident, although the overall quality of articles has increased, many clusters no longer exist, and the famous room has also been deleted. From now on, the unique multi-cluster and multi-room features of the Fandom version of the back room are no longer available. The Chinese branch will also undergo a major cleaning in July and August 2023. Original articles from Zhongfen will be either modified, deleted or moved. As a result, many people left the fandom community or moved to the wikidot backroom next door. The fandom backroom became increasingly deserted, exacerbating the decrease in the popularity of the fandom community. 2024: Going from bad to worse, tepid 2024 is a dull year for the back room circle, with no new highlights or major events. However, this has also caused all the thunder laid in the circle in 2023 to explode. The quality has dropped and there are no new highlights, resulting in a sudden drop in popularity. Seeing that there is no popularity, all the little guys in the circle have left. Many big guys and high-quality writers in the circle have also withdrawn from the circle when they see that the atmosphere in the back room circle is getting worse and worse. Soon, there were fewer and fewer high-quality articles, back room videos and animations on the Wiki. The back room circle suddenly became empty, so that the main source of newcomers in the circle were the three back room games. Many newcomers only recognized the games but not the back room circle. 2025: Slight improvement In 2025, there are certain signs of revival in the back room circle. Bilibili has experienced an upsurge in back room AI creation. Many ups have used AI such as sora2 to create many realistic and high-quality videos of back room exploration or activities. They have transformed the high-quality but unpopular levels of the back room into motion, or long stories about adventures in the back room easily and productively. They are realistically presented in the form of videos, which are fascinating and retain many insiders while also attracting many outsiders. At the same time, at the beginning of 2025, Station B released a video "Introducing Wikidot version level 0 to level 999 in one breath" on the up half-month wall. The video was 38 hours long and won millions of views, attracting many new people to join the circle. 2026: A promising future The foreign tycoon Kane Pixel mentioned earlier has completed the filming of the movie "Back Room" in 2025. It has now entered the post-production stage and is scheduled to be released in 2026. The movie is co-written by him and Roberto Patin. Back Room will enter the film and television industry. The future is promising The full text has a total of 1,640 words (Back Chamber Chronicles 2019-2026)

First of all, the reason why I posted this comment is that the author of another novel I read stopped updating, and when I thought about this book, the author also said some depressing words, so I will tell you my views on this book to encourage the author. I think this book is well written, and it is a novel about the niche back room theme. Although the back room is divided into many versions and written differently, the author has done a good job of integrating the various versions. Readers who have not understood the back room theme or have no foundation can also read it. Judging from the current progress of the latest updates, the author is still very stable. I don't think the novel is toxic at all. The author's update frequency is the most mainstream on Tomato, with 4,000 updates per day, and sometimes 6,000 updates. The main problem with the lack of readers for this book is that the subject matter is too niche and most readers don't know about it and don't want to understand it. Tomato novels are now mainstream novels that are mindless and enjoyable, because Tomato does not require payment like other software. What comes in exchange is a huge flow of people and fragmented reading time, so in my opinion, for some people, they prefer to relax by writing some mindless articles in their free time, instead of slowly experiencing a relatively slow-paced novel. Therefore, this book is less read. But some people will like it, like me. It can be said that I started reading this novel from the very beginning, and I should be grateful for the previous chapters. If you want to learn something new, or come here for the theme of the back room, this book is also a good choice. I personally like reading very much. I started reading in elementary school and I have been reading until now. Whether it is in class, extracurricular or other things, whenever I have time, I basically read. The time I spend reading on Tomato is not too long, but it should be in the middle. I love reading novels by new authors. At the beginning, I liked to read Bat City. It looked interesting and I could read a lot. But now that I have read it for a long time, most of the novels I encounter are just anecdotes, changing the medicine without changing the medicine. So now I prefer novels by newcomers, which can be better integrated with the new era. Sometimes they are also combined with social hot spots, and novels by new authors can be very interesting. So if you have like-minded Taoist friends, you can check out my bookshelf. Most of them are novels by new authors. It also provides some encouragement to new writers. After all, only when new writers slowly grow up can we have more books to read. I don't have anything else to say, I just want to write slowly and someone will read it. The world is so big and there will always be like-minded people. Come on.

This time I really struck gold. Unlike traditional backroom novels that only stick to the original settings, the author allows the protagonist to have more profound interactions with different levels. The surprising integration of backroom products and modern technology (the protagonist's weapons), the more profound plot portrayal of entities (skin stealers), and the interpretation of hierarchical anomalies (level 0 rules) from a more rational perspective. I hope this book can get better and better as it gets written, please go to the author 👍

I have only heard about a few of the layers in the back room. The initial scene with the yellow wall lighting was the most profound. I didn't expect there to be so many interesting layers. Xu Yi has indeed made a qualitative leap from a survivor to a pioneer in Great Xia! However, the appearance of Gonggong and the interaction with reality were greatly reduced later, and it felt a bit disconnected. The final general attack and the return of Feiyu suit were really dyed, but there were no death moths and bad reviews. Children can't just lick dogs! But licking it to the end is the peak of dog life!!

Is it okay if I give a review of my own book?

Very good, clear and logical, with a tight plot. Reading the whole story, I can feel that the protagonist is moving step by step in the crisis without being too depressing, and I haven't seen any poisonous points so far. I hope the author will keep up the good work!

It's so awesome, it deserves a 9.9 Rating. . . After reading Tomato for so many years, this is the first time I rate a book. . You never know how much gold you can find in tomato poop. . . I wonder how such a beautiful novel can only be read by so few people. . . . .

I have a question, how did Meiliguo get in and out of the back room? Are you using the K version of the Low Proximity Magnetic Distortion System (LPMDS)? Or use other methods? 🤔 (The core question is whether the back room in this book has the blank space [what] exists in the back room in the K version)

It's well written and has a unique worldview.

It's also very awesome! Personally, I feel that this is the best book I have ever read on a similar subject. The author must continue to read more and not run away✋😭✋
