The Abandoned Consort in the Cold Palace: My Emperor Empress Goes Mad Every Day

The Cold Palace Concubine: My Empress Goes Mad Every Day

A foul-mouthed, hot-tempered heroine with overwhelming combat skills × an intensely affection-starved hero who talks himself into love. Bickering enemies, a husband’s desperate pursuit, and a cleanup of the imperial harem.

Shen Ning, an elite bodyguard, dies on a mission and transmigrates into the body of a disgraced consort in the Great Wei imperial harem, banished to the cold palace for her jealousy. The original owner was a famous “sickly beauty,” out of breath after just a few steps. Shen Ning, however, has a ferocious spirit and elite fighting instincts. Faced with provocation from scheming consorts, abandonment by her family, and the emperor’s disdain, she decides to embrace her “going off the rails” philosophy: if someone crosses her, she hits back, and she refuses to waste energy tormenting herself.

She treats the harem like a “workplace” and the emperor, Xiao Jue, like a “difficult client or fictional NPC.” With her masterful grappling skills and cutting one-liners, she turns the harem into her own stand-up comedy stage and fighting arena.

She expects to be sentenced to death, but after the supposedly decisive, woman-avoiding emperor Xiao Jue repeatedly sees her uproot a willow tree while pretending to be frail, he starts to unravel. He goes from “That woman’s crazy” to “My Ningning is just outspoken,” and becomes a walking double standard. Shen Ning only wants to be expelled from the palace so she can enjoy her freedom, but Xiao Jue starts talking himself into love, kicking off a hilarious palace romance in which “she runs, he chases, and she can’t escape even if she grows wings.”
