When emperors of ages past shed their dragon robes and left behind their gilded palaces, they found themselves arriving together in a boundless ocean after death, trapped on tiny wooden rafts. An unprecedented struggle for survival had begun.
Qin Shi Huang, who once unified all under heaven; Emperor Wu of Han, a ruler of grand ambition; Emperor Renzong of Song, benevolent and kind; Zhu Yuanzhang, decisive and ruthless... Emperors from different dynasties and with vastly different personalities had all gathered here. There were no ministers bowing before them, no realm for them to rule, only an endless ocean, ferocious sharks, and scarce survival resources. The sovereigns who once ruled the land now had to struggle for fresh water, food, and planks. Their old statecraft and political scheming faced a new test against the brutal laws of survival in nature.
The domineering emperors tried to keep control of everything as before. Benevolent rulers stayed true to themselves and sought coexistence. Suspicious monarchs kept watch for plots at every turn, while the incompetent struggled to survive. On their rafts, they argued, cooperated, and contended with one another. They had to withstand waves, rainstorms, and shark attacks, while also resolving their historical grudges and power struggles.
