In a clockwork universe where the laws of physics are driven by giant gears, gravity rises and falls with faith. Retired Godslayer Edgar Anvil lives in seclusion in Rust Town and runs a bakery. His only desire is to cure the eternal curse and achieve a peaceful death. However, a rotten wooden door appeared out of thin air, triggering a "countercurrent echo" of a storm of intelligent consciousness. This storm regards him as the error code of the universe and vows to reversely erase all traces of his existence. Edgar is forced to embark on a path of escape and pursuit, but gradually discovers that the nature of this storm is closely connected with his past of killing gods and even his desire for an end. He must make a final choice between being swallowed up by the storm and completely annihilated, or shouldering a terrible responsibility that transcends life and death.
