Lou Yuzhu, captain of a base security squad in an apocalyptic era of natural disasters and mutations, is mortally wounded during a riot and transmigrates to the late Northern Song Dynasty. She is rescued by a farmer woman, Auntie Zhou. In this unfamiliar ancient world, she plans to keep her head down and scrape by. But when she unexpectedly hears gossip about Wu Dalang and Pan Jinlian, a long-suppressed thought suddenly surfaces: she wants a beautiful wife of her own!
While making a delivery one day, she catches sight of the dashing Hu Sanniang from afar and falls head over heels at once. And so begins her outrageous campaign to win Sanniang’s heart.
On her first sneak into the Hu family manor, she gets caught using a sparring match as an excuse. Her blunt, shameless behavior makes Sanniang grit her teeth in fury and embarrassment.
On her second sneak into the Hu family manor, she slips into Sanniang’s bedroom and presents her with a jade hairpin, leaving Sanniang blushing furiously and stamping her feet in exasperation.
The third time, the fourth time... Lou Yuzhu clings to her and keeps coming back stronger after every setback, teasing Hu Sanniang until she is both furious and annoyed, yet unable to stop her heart from racing.
But would Lord Hu ever agree to let his daughter marry someone who can do nothing for the Hu family manor? Lou Yuzhu grits her teeth. Fine, then. I’ll get myself an official post!
And so Lou Yuzhu begins two quests at once: winning her wife and climbing the ranks. She takes on bullies, works her way through officialdom, and flirts with Sanniang!
