A Hot Afternoon!

This story is temporarily unavailable here. Memory Tree is set in the near future. After Erin uses a memory-extraction company to erase the painful memory of her mother's funeral, fragments of other people's memories become fused with her own. As she searches for the truth behind these memories, she meets Zhou Min. Though they are strangers, the two women form a bond that goes beyond blood ties through their shared fragments of memory. Using dandelions as a metaphor, the novel explores the nature of memory: extracted data will eventually fade away, but the memories that truly matter grow through the connections between people and take root in the soil of real life. With delicate warmth, the story uses a sci-fi premise to reveal the simplest and most powerful emotions.
