In 2073, the "lycanthropy virus" swept across the world. The infected people acquired animal superpowers through genetic recombination - the speed of wolves, the strength of bears, and the sharp vision of eagles. However, they will gradually be swallowed by animal nature and become bloodthirsty monsters. Humanity is divided into two major camps: the "pure human faction" launches an indiscriminate hunt for all lycanthropes in the name of purification; the "lycanthrope faction" embraces mutation, regards supernatural powers as shortcuts to evolution, and even actively infects them.
Ling Jin, an unexpected survivor of the virus outbreak, became a rare "half-animal transformer" - retaining complete humanity, but awakening the stealth and explosive power of the Black Panther. He is unwilling to join any camp. His only obsession is to find an antidote and save his sister who is tortured by the virus. On the way, he met Su Ningye, who had the ability to transform into a snow leopard and adhered to his original intention of being a doctor. The two traveled side by side through wasteland urban agglomerations, radiation zones and mutant jungles, avoiding the pursuit of two factions.
As the clues were put together, they were shocked to discover that the lycanthropic virus was not a natural disaster, but a "species modification experiment" by the alien civilization "Covenant" - the earth was its testing ground for screening tough species, and all lycanthropes were "samples" to be harvested. The only antidote that can reverse the virus is hidden in the core of the "Covenant's" experimental base buried deep underground. Ling Jin and Su Ningye gathered partners with different stances, struggling on the edge of human nature and bestiality. Amid the encirclement and suppression by the two camps and the pursuit of alien detectors, they embarked on a journey of nine deaths toward the truth and redemption.
