[Storyline] I am Lin An, an awakened “NPC.”
I discovered that what people call the Heavenly Way is nothing more than cold “narrative rules” from a higher dimension. My joys and sorrows, my sacrifices, even my resolve to protect the world, are all just data that can be altered or deleted.
But so what?
I use the stars as my key to rewrite the predetermined plot, and unite the will of all living beings to fight the System’s reformatting.
I want to ask the “Creator” behind the screen: does a story written for someone else have the right to decide its own ending?
[Real-World Storyline] I am Su Zhe, a struggling author driven to the brink of madness by demands for updates and endless revisions.
Then I discovered that the character I wrote, Lin An, seemed to be… alive.
He no longer followed my outline. He could even send me messages through the document.
The investors want me to finish the story according to a “hit formula,” hand over the writing to AI, and give him a tragic death for the sake of traffic.
Meanwhile, my protagonist points his sword at the heavens in the book, as if waiting for an answer from me.
This is an escape that spans dimensions.
He fights in a fictional world, resisting the System that treats me as a tool;
I struggle in the real world, fighting a society that treats stories as commodities.
We are mirrors of each other, each other’s weakness, and each other’s only spark of light.
If narrative is a cage, then we will smash it and rewrite every rule amid the crumbling dialogue.
