Know No More: A Tale of Twins, Where the Heart Finds Peace

Know No? A Twin-Born Tale: This story combines the original novel and TV adaptation of The Story of Minglan with a twin-brother premise. (Important note: there are lots of original elements, lots of original elements, lots of original elements. If everything followed what already exists, you might as well go read the original. Innovation matters, hehe!)

Everyone in the capital knows that Qi Heng has a twin brother, Qi Yan, courtesy name Mingzhi. He is frail and charming, and knows exactly how to charm his commandery princess mother.

Only Qi Yan knows that he carries memories from two lifetimes, and could never live up to his elder brother’s “perfect role model” image.

He realized long ago that the sixth daughter of the Sheng family, so cautious and reserved, was just like him.

So he pretended to be sickly and played the wastrel, quietly building a commercial empire.

He had planned to spend his life carefree, but changed his mind when he saw Minglan lower her head with a bitter smile.

“Fellow time-traveler, this world is too cold. Let’s team up.”

While Gu Tingye was carefully laying his plans, Qi Yan was already presenting her with a garden full of peonies.

“Minglan, choose me. I promise you three things: first, I’ll never take a concubine; second, I won’t constrain you; third, on the hardest road a woman in this world can walk, I’ll walk beside you.”

Twin brothers, two ways of living. This time, it is the “frivolous” second young master who will protect her.

[Reading Guide]

1. Qi Heng’s twin brother × transmigrated Minglan. They both transmigrate, but Minglan’s perspective will not be described in too much detail.

2. The male lead is genuinely flirtatious early on (there is a courtesan subplot), but it becomes a one-to-one romance later.

3. They recognize each other as kindred spirits first, then fall in love. Their relationship develops gradually.

4. The heroine’s final choice is based on “understanding” and “respect.”

5. The male lead is always chaste when it comes to love, but he is not pure white.
