A Marriage to Settle a Debt
Xie Shiyu signed the agreement and prepared to become Mrs. Li in name only.
From the corner, his childhood friend teased, “Senyan, you got a great deal with this wife. She’s beautiful and sensible, much better than the ones before…”
“Feelings?” The man seemed to chuckle, his usual indifference in his voice. “The Xie family’s debt is paid off, and she plays the perfect Mrs. Li. We each get what we need.”
Later, he was desperate to tear up that five-year agreement, but she simply turned and walked away.
If you don’t cherish her, someone else will.
As a bookworm who has read novels for more than ten years, what I enjoy most is getting into different stories every day. Watching other people's joys and sorrows, laughing and crying sometimes, it seems like several lifetimes have passed.
The more I watch it, the more I feel itchy in my heart - those plots that wowed me and those characters that I will never forget, how exciting it would be if they could be born from my hands!
So one day, I opened a blank document. Unexpectedly, writing novels and reading novels are completely different things!
The plot that I took for granted when reading the novel turned out to be so difficult when I wrote it myself: How should I write the beginning to make it attractive? How can character dialogue be natural? How to arrange the plot so that it is not cliché? I was stuck in front of the computer, deleting and revising, revising and deleting, and finally realized how difficult it was for the authors.
But I didn't give up. The thousands of books I had read over the years became my teachers at this time. I learned to foreshadow the writing like a great author, trying to write flesh-and-blood characters, and trying to make every plot reasonable.
When my story slowly takes shape, and when the characters begin to have their own ideas, the sense of accomplishment is a hundred times stronger than reading a wonderful novel! Although my works may still be very immature, every word is a testimony of my transformation from a reader to a "storyteller".
Now, I am both a reader and a writer. When reading, I will learn the techniques more carefully; when writing, I will understand the author's intentions better. This dual identity makes my love for novels even deeper - because I know that behind every wonderful story, there is a person like me who insists on writing because of love.
If you have also loved reading novels for many years, maybe one day you will want to write your own story. Then you will discover: the feeling of creating a world is really wonderful.
When will the good-looking person become a real person?
