Na Tian Xiang Qi Le's Book 6

Period Setting

Xu Zhiyi has spent two years as a wife in name only. Her husband went away to work and has vanished without a trace, while her mother-in-law calls her a “barren hen” and forces her to go to a village relative’s house to find someone to father a child. Just as she is at the end of her rope, with all hope gone, Chen Yan, a burly veteran rumored to have been left impotent by an injury, climbs over her courtyard wall on a night of torrential rain. Soaked to the skin, the man corners her in the woodshed like a starving lone wolf. His voice is rough but firm: “Sister-in-law, since he doesn’t want you, I’ll raise you instead!”
