The background of the story is set at the end of the Yuan Dynasty around 1351 AD, on the eve of the Zhizheng Rebellion. This was a dark age when imperial power was on the decline, official administration was corrupt, and even the Yellow River overflowed due to disrepair. The brutal rule of the Mongolian nobles collided violently with the bottom line of survival of the Han people. Underground associations such as the White Lotus Sect and the Ming Sect were active, and uprisings by the Red Turban Army were about to break out in various places. The worldview strictly follows the official historical geography and social structure, not only showing grand war scenes, but also deeply analyzing the land annexation, household registration system and clan power at that time. In this troubled world, there is no magic, only cold weapons and hungry people. Any change must be based on a deep understanding of feudal farming society.
