Lin Qingmo is an ordinary peasant girl from a mountain village. Desperate to escape her “parents” forcing her into marriage, she unexpectedly finds a phoenix fallen from the sky.
The phoenix, Shen Yu, is peerlessly beautiful, but utterly cold.
He leads her onto the path of immortality. She is grateful to him and grows deeply attached to him. But he cultivates the merciless path, and is destined never to fall in love.
Shen Yu is the last phoenix in the world. Everyone sees him as aloof and heartless, but only he knows that the moment he first saw Lin Qingmo, his inner demon began to grow.
He sealed Lin Qingmo’s furnace-ding physique, but he could not seal away his own inner demon.
Later, Shen Yu turned against his sect. The one who had once vanquished demons became a demon himself, and rose as a new Demon King.
Lin Qingmo, meanwhile, hardened her heart and devoted herself to cultivation, becoming the powerful and cold Venerable Qinglian.
Until one day, she met a young man in white. He looked so much like him…
