Every song imprisons a world.
I travel through the gaps between melodies, becoming a fleeting footnote in other people’s stories. I ferry stars across the river in The Night Voyage, and witness dynasties collapse in A World of a Thousand Chariots… I gather the “sparks of light” made brilliant by obsession, and have grown accustomed to one destined farewell after another.
Until I discovered that every farewell is a prologue.
Every lonely island whispers the same name.
And every soul I once passed through is returning from the end of all sound, bearing fragments of their worlds, to build me a bridge leading to them.
It turns out I traveled through countless worlds not to collect stories,
but to help every story find its way home.
