As the last glimmer of light in the universe is swallowed by endless swarms of insects and the alien megastructures known as the “Gauna,” the remnants of humanity flee in despair through the dark abyss of space aboard their last ark, the Hope. On this journey with no end in sight, a boy piloting a biological mecha unexpectedly merges with an android from an ancient civilization. From that moment on, he becomes the only being capable of matching the insect overlord on a psychic level. At the helm of his one-of-a-kind “living” warship, he will lead humanity in a counterattack across the suffocating sea of stars, vowing to become the sole ruler of this dark abyss.
