Ji Hua was a modern-day career soldier. After leaving the military, he started a business and founded a company. He later befriended a group of wilderness explorers. One day, while exploring deep in a primeval forest with several of them, he was caught in a rare geological disaster. A mudslide buried him, and after a flash of strange light, he transmigrated to the Spring and Autumn period, inhabiting the body of Ji Hua, a prince of Yan exiled to Guzhu.
Prince Ji Hua had been banished to the remote land of Guzhu after offending powerful figures in Yan. Newly arrived, Ji Hua looked at the barren surroundings and the people in tattered clothes, his heart full of worry. But armed with modern knowledge and ideas, he was determined to carve out a future for himself against the odds.
