Ruan Tang, a nursing student, was at the end of his rope when he took a ridiculous job: dress as a woman and work as a caregiver for a wealthy family.
His employer, a rich lady, was generous with her money. She had only one condition: “Help me seduce my son into coming back.”
Ruan Tang thought the hardest part would be pretending to be a woman.
Then he discovered the real challenge was dealing with He Linxiao. The brainless rich second-generation heir treated the female-presenting version of Ruan Tang with coldness, insults, and cutting sarcasm.
But when Ruan Tang dressed as a man, He Linxiao pursued him with great enthusiasm, doing everything he could to please and flatter him while pretending to be hard-hearted and acting soft inside.
The most ridiculous part was that Ruan Tang realized he looked a lot like He Linxiao’s ex-boyfriend.
Damn, was there a stand-in trope too?
But by then, this stand-in had already fallen for him beyond all hope of recovery.
Reading guide:
1. Both are sexually inexperienced, one-on-one romance, happy ending.
2. Cross-dressing trope. The pursuer doesn’t know the pursued is a man at first, and there’s no groveling arc after the truth comes out.
3. Lighthearted, a sweet little industrial confection.
4. The pursued isn’t weak, and the pursuer isn’t a jerk. They both work hard to love each other.
