In the dilapidated Sanqing Temple deep in the Zhongnan Mountains, a sixteen-year-old Taoist boy named Shen Yanqiu lives a life of poverty without fighting against the world, guarding a bronze oil lamp of unknown age. The master's words before his emergence, "keep it safe and wait for the destined one", made him regard this ancient lantern named "Zifu Xuan Lamp" as his life.
On a rainy night, the tranquility was broken by the intrusion of uninvited guests - a man in a navy blue silk shirt made a bold move to seize the mysterious lamp, but suffered a mysterious backlash the moment he touched the lamp holder, and died suddenly in front of the audience. However, the master who was supposed to become an immortal actually appeared as a remnant soul, leaving behind the motto "Practice and cultivate your true heart" before disappearing. The wick of the mysterious lamp has since ignited a purple fire, and the ancient patterns on the lamp base seem to be flowing with life.
Only then did Shen Yanqiu know that this lamp contained the true meaning of practice in the Tao Te Ching and could arouse the Zifu Qi that practitioners dreamed of. But the news of Xuan Deng's appearance spread like wildfire. The man in black with the "Xuan Qing" token hanging on his waist, the missing children at the foot of the mountain, the mysterious black shadow peeping from the rafters... The ensuing crises involved him in the whirlpool.
The blue lines emerging on the wrist vaguely echo the patterns of the lamp holder. The Tao Te Ching annotated by Master contains hidden cultivation methods. The jade pendant with the word "Zhang" engraved on it actually involves the secret of the collapse of Xuan Qing Guan a hundred years ago.
Should I live by observing the Three Purities, or should I step into this treacherous world of practice with my lantern? Shen Yanqiu held the mysterious lantern and looked at the rolling mist deep in Zhongnan Mountain. The sixteen-year-old boy will finally understand: the so-called practice is never about chasing immortality, but about keeping the immortal light of the original heart in the ghosts of the human heart.
