Yu Xuanji, a talented woman in the late Tang Dynasty, was sentenced to death for murdering her maid out of jealousy. Her teacher Wen Tingyun fainted in the wind and snow at the execution ground. Her only long-cherished wish for the rest of her life was to let her poems survive for her in the desperate situation of the world.
