The story of Dayu'er and Dorgon falling in love with each other, but being forced to marry Huang Taiji. The play also shows her assisting her son Fulin to ascend the throne after the death of Huang Taiji, as well as the complex emotional entanglement and power struggle between her and Dorgon. The drama won many awards including the 21st China TV Golden Eagle Award for "Outstanding Feature-length TV Series".
