"The Noisy Loess" tells the story of the desires and ups and downs of Anbian County, a small town in northwest China, under the tide of the times from 1995 to 2000. Technician Wang Mingyuan went to real estate and formed a "troika" with his cousin Li Qiang and deputy county magistrate Zhang Cheng, which gave birth to the crazy off-plan property of "Wanggang Court". His father Zhang Jianguo's painstakingly designed water-saving plan was abandoned and he jumped off a building to realize his prophecy; his wife Lin Qing split her life between the piano and KTV; and the hair salon girl Qiaoqiao used her body to gain promotion. Everyone was chasing the dream of Hong Kong on the yellow soil, until the Asian financial crisis hit, the capital chain was broken, and unfinished buildings became monuments. Folk artist Zhao Shouli's playing and singing run through the story like a prophecy. In the end, only his daughter Wang Xiaofang, who left Beijing with her father's manuscripts, left a box of "unearthed cultural relics" and endless sighs for this era decorated with lies, desire and plastic Hong Kong.
