He transmigrated to the late Han dynasty, and things went catastrophically wrong from the start: his father was betrayed while resisting the Xiongnu and now lay at death's door. The burden of fighting the Xiongnu fell to Lu Yu. With hundreds of thousands of Zhangye's people behind him, he could not retreat this time!

Summoned in crisis, I led the White Robes, carrying on my father's legacy to defend the frontier.
Eunuchs corrupted the court and its laws fell into ruin; with cunning, I broke the traitors and claimed the province.
I slew tyrants along the road and gathered men of talent; the Hu horses dared not approach the frontier forts.
The Yellow Turbans rose like a swarm, and the Central Plains fell into darkness; I galloped forth, sweeping away the chaos.
Our forces joined as one, our hearts set on the same goal; why fear Cao's raging power?
My virtuous name reached far, and the captured common folk rallied to me; our righteous army grew stronger still.
At the ancient road of Chencang, thunder split the heavens; the Han banners rose again over their old lands.
The regrets of a past life would be made right this time; history would record a new era.
By land and water we marched down into Jiangdong; a fierce wind swept Jinling beneath a lightless night sky.
All six commanderies trembled at our approach; Wu's songs faded as the sound of horses rose.
Xuande of Lousang ascended the dragon throne; together we would restore the Han to glory.
Drunk, I reveled in the triumph of fame and power; awake, I found it all a dream of millet.
