Three months later, Lan Ying, a newly appointed detective, received a strange assignment: keep an eye on Zhang Wei, a street-stall owner who had never committed a crime. In Lan Ying's eyes, Zhang Wei was an utterly ordinary nobody: plain-looking, stuck in repetitive work, with a common name and nothing remarkable about him.
Just as Lan Ying was about to report the situation to her superiors, they gave her a new task: take an investor to find Zhang Wei and make a sci-fi film, while continuing to keep him under surveillance.
Her superiors repeatedly stressed that Zhang Wei had to be watched, and Lan Ying couldn't understand why, not until the island began to descend into chaos...
