At the third watch of the midnight hour, the soul-summoning bell rings. Lin Xia steps into the rift between Yin and Yang and accidentally stumbles into the Wangchuan Tavern.
Gathered here are the guardians reincarnated from the Five Spirit Pearls: the Blue Pearl, which empathizes and purifies; the Red Pearl, which repels evil and cleanses defilement; the Green Pearl, which understands Yin and Yang; the Silver Pearl, which connects the two worlds; and Lin Xia, the Yellow Pearl, who can read the past. Each of the five has a different supernatural skill, and all bear glowing Manjusaka tattoos wrapped around their arms.
A woman with a scar on the back of her head is unable to leave because she remains obsessed with her daughter. A black cat that can speak after eating Echo Grass holds fast to its life-and-death pact with a hunter. The five must resolve the lingering regrets of these restless dead while searching for the shattered pieces of the Reincarnation Wheel and fighting vengeful spirits and ferocious beasts lurking around the rift. Every fragment restored awakens an even deeper mystery between Yin and Yang.
Guiding souls between life and death, driving away evil spirits: an adventure spanning two worlds has begun. Dare you unlock this mysterious journey, filled with both warmth and terror?
