Lin He graduated with a degree in animal behavior and immediately became unemployed, so he had no choice but to return to his hometown and inherit the title of “intangible cultural heritage successor.”
He thought it was just an empty title, but it turned out a whole clutch of dragons was hatching in a cave behind his house: a socially awkward, internet-addicted black dragon; a golden dragon convinced it was a cat; a cleanliness-obsessed green dragon; and a red dragon deep in its chuunibyou phase...
A notice from the Special Cultural Heritage Bureau soon followed: “If they fail the assessment, the dragon hatchlings will be sent to the Mythical Creature Behavior Correction Center.”
To save these “troubled mythical beasts,” Lin He has no choice but to roll up his sleeves and get to work, using behavior modification, counseling, and career planning to help the ancient beasts adapt to modern society.
And so things gradually take a bizarre turn:
The internet-addicted black dragon becomes the village’s top cybersecurity expert, the fastidious green dragon runs a sterile farm, and the “Immersive Ancient Mythology Experience” led by the chuunibyou red dragon becomes so popular that tickets sell out...
Just as the little mountain village is turning into an “intangible cultural heritage influencer village,” the bureau chief sends an encrypted emergency message:
“Abnormal energy fluctuations detected at the Antarctic monitoring station... Could the next batch of ‘troubled children’ have hatched ahead of schedule?”
I just started watching it, it's pretty good
