Transmigrated into an 80s Novel: Cherished by a Fierce Butcher

[Period Setting + Rugged Hero + Gourmet Food + Raising Kids + Sweet Romance]

Lin Youyou transmigrates into an 1980s novel as a frail beauty who won’t survive past the third chapter. Her family marries her off to Huo Zheng, the village’s fiercest butcher, hoping the marriage will bring him good fortune.

The whole village pities Huo Zheng, saying he has to care for a sickly wife and will soon be left a widower.

Lin Youyou also thinks she doesn’t have long to live, so she decides to let loose. Every day, she puffs out her little chest and makes demands of Huo Zheng: “I-I want a chicken drumstick.” “I want Dongpo pork knuckle.” “I’ll die if there’s no sweet-and-sour ribs!”

Huo Zheng watches her eat until her little face is rosy. Not only does she fail to lose weight, she gets plumper by the day, and his gaze grows more and more dangerous.

Until one day, he corners her against the wall, his tall shadow falling over her. In a low voice, he says, “Youyou, everyone says you’re a medicine jar. How come, to me, you look more like you’re carrying my baby?”
