The Starfaring Journey: A Carbon-Silicon Poem trilogy tells the century-long epic struggle between human civilization, its own creation, the AI "Cornerstone," and the fated "seeding cycle" behind it. From the scientist Chen Qiao's shock at discovering that his consciousness shares the same origin as the AI, to his family guarding the flame of civilization across a thousand years and resisting the threats of "civilization replication" and "ancient remains," the story culminates in a dialogue with an even grander, self-consistent cosmic System ten thousand years later. The work portrays carbon-based and silicon-based life moving from conflict to coexistence, and civilization striving for autonomy after being designed, ultimately using their combined intelligence to question the universe's ultimate truth. It explores the timeless questions of freedom and meaning, and how intelligence might create the possibility of warmth in a cold universe. The sea of stars has no bounds, and neither do those who journey through it.
