Reborn Xue Baochai: Awakening to Protect Daiyu

This novel has two female leads and no male lead. There are no underhanded schemes. Since Qin Keqing is already dead, the Ningguo Mansion does not feature in the story. In her previous life, Xue Baochai obeyed her mother and accepted fate, marrying into the Rongguo Mansion, only to watch helplessly as the Jia family’s grand edifice crumbled. Jia Baoyu renounced the world, leaving her to live out her days alone in a loveless marriage. Lin Daiyu, the orphan with sorrowful eyes and extraordinary talent, eventually died after shedding all her tears. As she lay dying, she looked at Xue Baochai with resentment, regret, and a hint of affection too subtle to name. Only as she neared death did Xue Baochai realize that her concern for Lin Daiyu had long since gone beyond sisterly affection. The deliberate distance and false politeness had merely been ways to hide feelings that were never supposed to exist.
