Lin You, once an extraordinary practitioner, chose to lie flat and waste his days away in the café his parents left him.
Then he bound himself to the “Carefree” System: the more ridiculous the task, the richer the reward.
He slacks off in a job interview and gets hailed as a genius; he takes it easy in a fight and is mistaken for a master.
He had planned to live out his days as a couch potato, but now he is forced to resolve the most dangerous crises in the most “useless” ways.
But as supernatural forces stir beneath the city, global conspiracies emerge, and extraterrestrial observers appear one after another, Lin You finally realizes that every time he “slacks off,” he turns the rules of the world upside down.
With all of humanity reduced to test subjects, this ultimate “lie-flat player” decides to carve out a path to survival for civilization in the most irreverent way possible.
