Introduction to the work:
I took over a grave without a monument.
Twenty mounds, a deep mountain, a notebook that can never be turned to the end, and a grandfather who has disappeared.
He only left me a warning:
"Don't look back when the moon is full."
"Don't ask who was buried."
"Keep it up."
At first, I thought it was just too quiet a job.
Until the blank page of the notebook, under the blood moon, a strange memorial text appeared on its own;
Until the first tomb shimmered in the middle of the night, and a sigh that only I could hear came from inside;
Until a little monkey, who always cried in front of the largest grave, plucked out his hair and blew out a shadow standing tall...
Things began to appear in the mountains that shouldn't exist.
A gap opened in the sky to gaze upon the human world.
A woman with fluttering clothes came to me and looked at the cemetery behind me with complicated eyes:
"It turns out that the 'anchor' is here."
"What you are guarding is not the dead."
"Twenty... Forgotten 'epochs'."
Now, the latest page of the note is bleeding, and there is only one line on it:
"They are waking up."
"Escape, or... Open the door?"
And I held the rusty key left by my grandfather and stood in the center of all the tombs.
The ground beneath my feet began to tremble, as if there were countless ancient heartbeats resonating with the one in my chest.
——Behind the door, is it the end or the beginning?
——Is it the tomb I'm guarding, or... The cage?
