A xianxia story: the male lead is reborn, the female lead is a native, and they save each other
A laid-back, socially anxious disciple, Chen Erlan, vs. Liu Yi (Yi Liu), a seemingly gentle but secretly ruthless master bent on revenge. The male lead is reborn to seek revenge, while the female lead grows through her trials.
In her previous life, Liu Yi was set up by Zhang Sirui and Li Si working together. She could only watch as her fellow disciples lost their lives saving her, and the entire Xuanshu Sect fell to pieces.
Reborn, he has returned from hell, determined to strike first, plot carefully at every turn, stir up turmoil throughout the sect, and expose the hidden figure behind it all.
Later, he gradually realizes that the actions of those two have diverged somewhat from what he remembers of his previous life. But to him, the difference should have meant nothing. He and Li Si were still destined to face a life-or-death battle.
Until he accidentally discovers the feelings his little disciple has been hiding. His heart stirs, and he decides to do her a favor by giving things a push. In secret, he wonders: without him interfering, could those two still cross mountains and seas to stay by each other's side?
Then why, whenever he sees her standing shoulder to shoulder with that person, does an inexplicable bitterness wash over his heart? He had clearly been shaping himself to suit that person's preferences, so why is he the one who fell in love?
