In the winter of the twenty-sixth year of the Republic of China, the city of Nanjing was destroyed, and the cold wind and smoke swept across the Qinhuai River. On the bluestone floor of the Yue Family Martial Arts Hall, Yue Haoyuan, his wife and dozens of apprentices were stained with blood, and the steel knives in their hands remained until they died. At the age of thirteen, Yue Yutong, who had learned all the martial arts passed down from his family and was also proficient in poetry, saw a lot of blood in the secret room of the woodshed. He got angry and slashed sixteen Japanese soldiers in a row. He was eventually captured due to serious injuries. After being humiliated, she tried to kill herself with a knife several times, but the devil's grin and the screams of her relatives became the most piercing mark on her at the age of seventeen, and also tempered the fire of her revenge.
After a lucky escape, the unhealed scars and bone-gnawing hatred completely wore away her former gentleness. In the ruins of Nanjing, she found her friends Zhang Yuxin and Li Manling, whose families had also been destroyed. The three of them clenched their fists and "killed the Japanese" became their only oath.
With their familiarity with the streets and alleys of Nanjing, the Qinhuai River Dockyard, Laomendong alleys, and the Confucius Temple stage have all become their battlefields for revenge. At first, they killed the enemy on sentries and seized guns and ammunition; then they burned the grain depot in the south of the city at night, with the flames reflecting half of the night sky; later, they disguised themselves as hawkers and blew up the arsenal in the west of the city. The loud noise shattered the arrogance of the invaders. The traitor's house was set on fire every night, secret messages from the puppet army were repeatedly stolen, and three girls transformed into the "Three Female Evils", causing Japanese invaders to panic all over the city.
During a raid on the pseudo-police station, they rescued the imprisoned New Fourth Army soldiers and connected with the advance detachment. The personal path of revenge has since merged into the torrent of salvation for the family and the country. They still shuttled through the streets, but the poetry scrolls on their desks were replaced by military maps, and the tassels of their swords were stained with smoke and dust. Yue Yutong always remembers his father as "the pioneer in martial arts".
