Military Life on an Island: My Beautiful Stepmom Takes the Kids Clamming and Gossiping

The rating just came out, so it’ll go up later!

[Period setting + cuisine + raising kids + marriage first, love later + everyday island life]

Su Wan, a food blogger from the 21st century, transmigrates into an 1980s novel as a cannon-fodder supporting character. The original owner despised her fiancé for having a child from a previous relationship, ran off with his money, and died miserably on the street. When Su Wan arrives, she’s being forced to go on a matchmaking date.

She looks at the tall, broad-shouldered but taciturn naval officer in front of her, then at the filthy six-year-old stepson by his leg, whose eyes are like those of a little wolf cub. Su Wan slaps her thigh. “I’m marrying him!”

Everyone laughs at Su Wan for being foolish. Why go to a desolate island and become a stepmother when she could enjoy life in the city? The reborn heroine next door is waiting to laugh at her, certain that marrying the factory director’s son means she’s already won.

Then Su Wan arrives on the island.

No one eats the seafood? Garlic butter oysters, spicy crab, and seafood congee, coming right up!

The stepson won’t talk? She wins him over with compliments, loving packed lunches, and bedtime stories!

Her husband never comes home? Su Wan takes the kid to gather seafood, grow vegetables, and make clothes. She makes such a wonderful life that her husband starts coming home on time every day!

While the heroine next door is overwhelmed by battles with her mother-in-law, Su Wan lounges in the courtyard as her husband peels shrimp and her adorable child massages her legs. Life is blissful.
