My name is Li You, and I accidentally became the most notorious prince in Tang history.
My eldest brother, Li Chengqian, was plotting a rebellion, while my fourth brother, Li Tai, was scheming to seize the throne.
The only person who took me in was Empress Zhangsun, who treated me with the utmost kindness.
When she gently advised me to keep a low profile and protect myself, I instead stood up without hesitation to shield Li Shimin from a hidden arrow as he set out to campaign against Goguryeo.
Li Shimin turned back, suspicion in his eyes. "Who exactly are you?"
I smiled. "Father, I'm just your fifth son, the one who never amounts to anything."
He swept away in a huff.
Two years later, I brought back a lost treasure map to an ancient kingdom in the Western Regions.
What I didn't know was that this was a deadly test concerning the succession to the throne.
