In a single instant, I find myself in this bizarre and dazzling world. One wrong choice sends me tumbling from a land bathed in the light of order into a den where the strong prey on the weak. I struggle to escape and meet all kinds of friends and family along the way. Everything here is fascinating: the vast, all-embracing panorama of Great Yan, the all-encompassing superstructure of the Federation, the anything-goes tide of the Empire... Yet nowhere feels like a place where I can be at ease. With upheaval looming, I still can't bring myself to take even the first step. Immortal or demon? Should I leave... or stay?
There are romantic moments, but they're unlikely to happen early on. This note stays.
