[Mystery + Horror Games + Ghost Hunting]
The Underworld was going digital, and the first task given to new Black Reaper Fan Wujie was to beta-test the latest “immersive horror game,” The Haunted Domain.
What he never expected was that one slip of the finger on the agreement would make him the first employee in history to get sucked into the game.
Faced with a blood-soaked school building, an inn hosting ghost weddings, a funeral home trapped in a loop... players around the world struggled to survive in terror, while he pondered:
Did this mourning staff count as an in-game weapon?
Would the System give him a bonus for issuing a “Ghostly Conduct Violation Ticket” to uncooperative evil spirits?
When the final boss of the dungeon emerged from the shadows, ready to feast on despairing souls, it saw the new “player” calmly pull out a copy of the Underworld Regulations for Managing Infernal Officials.
Boss: “Y-You... who are you?!”
Fan Wujie glanced at the rapidly growing balance of “ghost coins” in his account and smiled kindly. “Relax. I’m just an ordinary civil servant passing by, here to... hit my KPI in your game.”
And so, every player witnessed the legend of an eccentric man who turned a survival game into an “official Underworld crackdown on the paranormal workplace,” and transformed its horror dungeons into an ATM for his year-end bonus.
Then one day, the entire game world abruptly froze.
A dignified voice pierced the void and rang in his ears:
“Fan Wujie, you’ve been milking the Underworld for all it’s worth. Having fun, are you?”
