Synopsis:
In the late Qing and early Republican era, orphan Zhang Gousheng is swept into the “Nine Dragons Carrying a Coffin.” The demon Taoist Zhenxuan takes up residence inside him, and he gains esoteric medical arts, only to become the living key to a foreigner's “Immortality Corporation.”
He saves lives to earn merit, while secretly stealing fate and flipping the board:
He raids tombs, blows up trains, breaks into the Forbidden City, and burns warships. He fights ghosts with hemorrhoids, drives up prices with demon bones, and challenges National Fate with the people's hearts.
When the dragon veins are turned into a business, he raises his scalpel like a commander's flag and roars:
“Foreigners can't chew through Chinese bones!”
Demons are the ones who don't die; the people are the ones who live forever.
The key breaks, the chains shatter, and a national funeral becomes the nation's rebirth.
An apocalyptic trial that defies heaven, exchanging lives for fortune,
from coffin to throne,
from one man to hundreds of millions,
see how an ordinary man makes “immortality” the people's birthright!
