Journey to the West: After the Great Sage's Death, Bodhi Begged Me to Come Out of Seclusion

After transmigrating to the world of cultivation, Gu Xuan bears the “useless Five-Element Spiritual Roots” and is regarded as an outcast by his sect, left to suffer abuse at anyone’s hands.

Only when he opens the Journey to the West in his mind does he discover the greatest deception in this world:

The Qi Refining and Foundation Establishment that everyone desperately pursues are actually a manual for raising “human elixirs” to be farmed by gods and Buddhas!

The day you ascend to immortality is the day the gods and Buddhas serve you up at their table!

Only the “Five-Element Spiritual Roots,” scorned by the cultivation world, are the one and only foundation for cultivating the “Primordial Dao Fruit” and attaining sainthood through the flesh!

Just as Gu Xuan reverses the cultivation of the Great Celestial Immortal Art and reforges his Golden Core, an old, furious voice erupts in his mind:

“Wukong died unjustly! The Six-Eared Macaque stole the kingdom, and Tathagata betrayed me! Young man, you’re cultivating the right way! Help this old man fight his way up to Spirit Mountain!”

It turns out the one who returned from the pilgrimage five hundred years ago was not Sun Wukong, but the Six-Eared Macaque! The true Great Sage Equal to Heaven had long since fallen, his bones transformed into this man-eating Heavenly Dao!

On this day, the Cave of the Slanting Moon and Three Stars opens once more.

Gu Xuan dons golden armor, strides into Lingxiao Palace, and points his sword at the gods and Buddhas filling the sky:

“The incense offerings you’ve been feasting on? Time to spit them out!”

“Today, I, Gu Xuan, will become the Great Sage Equal to Heaven once more and shatter this hypocritical Journey to the West!”
